FTC New Mexico 2024-25 Into the Deep Events
Hello, NM FIRST Tech Challenge Teams!
We have finalized plans for two FTC Qualifiers and the NM FTC State Championship for this season! The events will be:
December 6-7, 2024 – Alamogordo Qualifier at Alamogordo High School
January 17-18, 2025 – Albuquerque Qualifier at La Academia de Esperanza Charter School
February 7-8, 2025 – NM FTC Regional Championship at Menaul School in Albuquerque
NOTE: I did move the Championship from our original published date. It turned out that date was in conflict with the NM Science Olympiad Championship at NM Tech. A number of our teams participate in both programs and would have had a conflict on that date.
Details:
1) Like other regions, we will likely be implementing Judging interviews for some or all teams on Friday evening. This is to prevent some of our events from running late into the evening as they have the last several years. Please plan your travel accordingly!
2) I will open event registration on the NM FTC website on October 1. This year, there will be a single $125 participation fee per team covering any and all NM events you participate in. A big Thank You to our sponsors Ball Aerospace, Northrop Grumman and DoD in allowing us to keep this cost down for you!
3) There have been significant changes in the program this year! Please be sure to read the Competition Manual in detail and do not assume anything because it was that way last year! Also, pay close attention to the FTC Q&A forum for updates and changes. There are changes in allowed equipment, so also be sure to review that in the competition manual!
4) As with previous seasons, we will open the doors to teams on Friday evening at 5 or 6 PM. Details for each event will be posted.
5) Per current FIRST advancement rules, our events are open only to teams in the New Mexico FTC Region
I will be communicating with teams using the postmaster@nmftc.org and nmftcinfo@gmail.com email addresses. Please be sure to whitelist these in your email. If you think you aren’t getting emails, be sure to check your spam folder or come back to this blog where all messages are also posted.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concern by using the “Contact Us” feature on this website or by email to nmftcinfo@gmail.com
We look forward to seeing you all this season!
