Volunteer

Volunteers are what makes our events possible and we couldn’t do it without your help. If you are interested in being a volunteer for the New Mexico FTC region please follow the instructions included below.

  1. Register at https://www.firstinspires.org
  2. Once logged in navigate to the dashboard and choose the “Volunteer Registration” tab.
  3. Click the “Event Volunteering” button.
    1. Choose the program FIRST Tech Challenge
    2. Location of the event (Choose United States, New Mexico,  Leave Zip / Postal Code blank)
    3. Dates as included here.
    4. Name (enter event city) as listed here.
    5. Click “Apply Filters”
    6. This should bring up the event to volunteer for. Click the blue “Volunteer” button.
  4. Choose the Dates Available: “All Dates” (very helpful to be there for both days), “Event first day/date” (usually on a Friday and is reserved for setup and training), “Event second day/date” (Day of competition, crucial to be there and at the time the venue opens).
  5. Employer (you can list your employer but not required)
  6. Select Roles and sort in the order of preference (We always need Judges and Referees)
  7. Once satisfied click the blue “Next” button.
  8. Choose Team Affiliation (if applicable) by entering the team number you are affiliated with. This helps with assignment and mitigates any conflict of interest.
  9. Click the blue “Complete” button.
  10. Complete the Youth Protection Screening (no fee) and be sure to sign the consent and release form.
  11. The Tournament Director, judge Advisor (if applying to judge), Head Referee (if applying to ref) will contact you with next steps which include documentation and training for your specific assigned roles.
  12. Food is provided for volunteers at the events.
