New Mexico Championship

Hi Teams!
We had a great weekend at the NM FTC Alamogordo Qualifier! Results can be found here:

I’ve decided to try something different for the Championship registrations. As I stated in the closing ceremony Saturday, all 19 teams who competed at the Albuquerque and/or Alamogordo Qualifiers are invited to the NM Championship! Rather than have you sign up again and since all competition fees are paid, I’m going to automatically consider all of those teams registered for the NM Championship on Feb 20-21 at Menaul School in Albuquerque! The list is posted below. If your plans change and you won’t be able to attend, please let me know as soon as possible.
Team 23974, A.S.T.R.O. Vikings will be representing New Mexico at the FTC Governor’s Cup Challenge in Washington DC that same weekend! Congratulations to them for being selected for this and I’m sure they will do us all proud!
For teams who nominated students for the Dean’s list, we will be contacting you in the next week with details and to setup online interviews with your nominees. Those interviews will occur on or about Feb 6, 2026 and our state finalists will be announced at the New Mexico Championship.
We are going to try one other thing new to NM for the Championship. We will be running dual competition fields to improve the timing in robot competition. This is where we toggle back and forth between two fields with field reset, team setup and any match review occurring on one field while competition matches are started and run on the other field. This will require teams to be queued up prior to the previous match and getting on the field during promptly. Those who used to compete in AZ or who have competed at Houston will probably already be familiar with this process. We will be looking for some additional Field Resetters and Referees to make this happen. Thank you to FTC Team 16265, Enigma for agreeing to loan us the additional competition field and DECODE Challenge set to make this possible!
Lastly, we will be accepting nominations for the Compass Award this season. Nomination videos will be uploaded to our website using the same process you have used for the Engineering Portfolios. The winning coach/mentor will be announced at the Championship. The deadline for submitting the nomination videos is Noon MST on Friday, February 6. Please upload them to:
