NM FTC March Scrimmage Details
Hi Teams!
The following seven teams are registered for the March NM FTC Remote Scrimmage:
- 10348, Gear Masters
- 14442, Neutrons
- 14571, The Marvels
- 15789, Lovington Robo Cats
- 16159, H.O.T. Squad
- 16265, Enigma
- 18546, Die Krieger Blau
Reminder: This event will be Robot Competition only, no judging! We will do practice judging at the April Scrimmage.
Here’s some details on how this will work:
- Ford, JP and I will hold a Zoom meeting for registered teams on Saturday, March 13 at Noon MST. I’ll send a meeting invite to the lead mentors of the registered teams in the next couple days. We will provide more detailed instructions and answer questions then.
- During the Zoom, we will be providing lead mentors with our phone numbers to contact if you have problems or questions.
- You will be using the FTC Scoring App located at: https://ftc-scoring.firstinspires.org/
- The device running the app needs to be connected to the internet when running the matches!
- Login to the app using the registered Lead Mentor 1 or 2 FIRST Dashboard credentials.
- The scores are entered by a lead mentor or someone a lead mentor has designated as a scorekeeper in the app. If desired, lead mentors should see the option to assign that role in the app.
- The scoring screens being used are the same ones normally used by referees at in person events.
- The event time window is set up as Saturday, March 13 at Noon MST until Friday, March 19 at 3PM MDT.
- All rounds must be run and entered by the 3 PM MDT on March 19!
- You will have the whole event time period to run and score a total of six (6) official competition rounds. You can do them all at once, or spread them out through the week, working on your robot as you go.
- The match is scored by starting a normal 2 minute, 30 second competition round. There will be the usual Autonomous, Driver Controlled and End Game segments.
- You enter the robot’s performance into the app as you go and following the round. You will then submit the results of that round.
- Once you submit the results of that round, they are official!
- These are official timed rounds. Please Remember – Just like a real live event, there are no do overs if things don’t work!
- I believe the system also has provisions for running practice rounds. More details on that in the Zoom meeting.
- We will hold a short closing to announce results on Friday, March 19 at 7 PM, also via Zoom.
- PLEASE REMEMBER – FIRST is depending on your team’s Gracious Professionalism in being honest on scoring the performance of your Robot!!
Good Luck!
Jim, Ford & JP
