Albuquerque FTC Qualifier Dec 12-13

We are less than two weeks away from our first NM FTC Qualifier of the DECODE Season at La Academia de Esperanza Charter School in Albuquerque!

Two VERY important notes:

Friday Evening Judging Interviews: 

We will have 18-20 teams at this Qualifier. 

To keep it running in a timely fashion on Saturday, we will need at least half of those teams to do their initial judging interviews on Friday evening rather than Saturday morning. 

Before we start randomly assigning interview times, please let me know by email before Noon, Monday Dec 8 to nmftcinfo@gmail.com if you have travel arrangements or other limitations that would prevent you from appearing for judging on Friday evening.  Alternatively, if you would prefer to do the judging interview on Friday, please let me know that by the same deadline. 

We will give preference to teams travelling more than 30 miles for Saturday morning interviews. 

We are planning to have a Pizza Party for teams judging on Friday.

Youth Team Member Online Consent & Release:

Please get all of your youth signed up and their Consent & Release forms complete in the FIRST registration system well before the event!

Students are not allowed to participate in the competition until this is complete! 

PLEASE NOTE: This year FIRST has made a major change to this process. They are not providing local organizers with the paper Consent & Release forms, so that is no longer an option right before the event as it has been in the past!  You can still get the paper forms, but team coaches must directly do that by communication with FIRST headquarters in New Hampshire on a case-by-case basis. That is highly unlikely to happen overnight or on event day!

Event Volunteers:

Also, we are still in serious need of a number of event volunteers!  If you have team family members or alumni who would be willing to volunteer, please have them sign up thru a FIRST Dashboard account.  We will consider applicants for most roles but to keep judging fair, we would prefer team affiliated folks not sign up as judges.
