NM FTC February Team Blast!

Hello NM FTC Teams! 

We’re just 3 weeks away from our first NM Remote Scrimmage of the FTC ULTIMATE GOAL season! 

If you haven’t signed up for NM FTC events yet, please click on “Events / Event Registration” above to sign up.  The two scrimmages are free, so I would recommend you sign up even if you don’t think you are quite ready.

To this date, the following teams have signed up for both scrimmages:

  • 10348, Gear Masters
  • 14442, Neutrons
  • 14571, The Marvels
  • 15789, Lovington Robo Cats
  • 16159, H.O.T. Squad
  • 16256, Enigma

We will be using the new cloud based FTC Scoring system to run the remote events.  Please disregard any “Remote Event Hub” instructions you may have received earlier in the season – we won’t be using that.  You should be seeing links to webinars on using the FTC Scoring system in the messages FIRST sends to teams. It looks well thought out and pretty easy to use.  I have good reports on it from Dave & Christine over in AZ.

To login to the FTC Scoring system, click the following link and login with the FIRST Dashboard email & password of one of your two lead mentors:

Teams that have signed up for events will see those events reflected in the scoring system.  If you think you have registered and don’t see them, please let me know.

We will be offering practice judging at both scrimmage events.  This is an opportunity for everyone to practice using the judging features of the scoring software.  Participation in this judging is completely voluntary and does not result in awards.
Three very important housekeeping notes! These may need to be complete before the scoring software will work for you!
  • This season, FIRST is requiring that all team students & parents (for under age 13)  be signed up in the Online registration system.  They won’t be accepting the paper forms anymore.
  • Please check to see that both lead mentors have completed Youth Protection (YPP) screening
  • Please check that all team members & volunteers have completed the online Consent & Release. This was recently updated for COVID-19   

Right before the March Scrimmage, JP, Ford and I will host a mandatory telecon for participating teams to go over how to participate in the event.  I’ll send out a link for that in the week before the event.

Finally, Deans List nominations for our Championship are due on March 15th.  Submission is via your FIRST Dashboard.
