If you are planning to compete this season, we need in-region teams please sign up for one or both NM FTC qualifiers by the end of next week!  If we have qualifiers, that means you must advance to the Regional Championship.  You will not be able to simple register & pay for the Championship alone.

So far, only six NM FTC teams have signed up for one or both of our FTC qualifiers.   Even with the handful of out-of-region teams that have expressed interest, that’s not enough to run the qualifiers! We have to purchase awards a month ahead of the Alamogordo Qualifier. That means we need to make a decision by the end of next week on whether to hold the qualifiers or to cancel them and consolidate everything into the NM FTC Championship in Socorro, Jan 27-28.

We would prefer to have qualifiers mainly for the benefit of your teams.  That gives the students the experience of competing multiple times, figuring out what works, what doesn’t and making changes and improvements for the next event.

Lastly, according to FIRST’s new policy this season, if we don’t have at least 16 in-region teams compete this season, we could lose one or both of our advancement slots to the Houston Championship next season. We are just making that in team registration, so it’s very important that all of our registered teams compete.

For Out of region teams: After NM teams have had a chance to register, we will be opening Qualifier registration on October 24th, 2022 for teams located in the state of Chihuahua Mexico and the other 4 corner states of Arizona, Colorado, and Utah. We will be opening registration to all other regions on Nov. 17th 2022. We request out-of-region teams please do not attempt to register before those dates. We will add links for that purpose on Oct 24 and Nov 17th.
